Cost Analysis and Optimization

Cost Analysis and Optimization helps identify cloud spend opportunities and, when configured, propose reviewable changes.

What it does​

  • Reviews cost-related signals from connected cloud accounts and agent-accessible context.
  • Summarizes top opportunities in the AI Assistant.
  • Can propose pull-request based changes when VCS access is configured.

Requirements​

  • Connected cloud account.
  • DevOps Genie Agent deployed and live.
  • Cloud billing or cost permissions appropriate for your provider and organization policy.
  • VCS access if you want pull requests for recommended changes.

Example prompt​

Analyze the last 30 days of cloud spend and show the top savings opportunities.

Review expectations​

Cost recommendations should be reviewed with the owning team. Changes that affect capacity, storage lifecycle, or resource retention should go through your normal engineering and finance approval process.

Troubleshooting​

If recommendations are missing, confirm billing data is available in your cloud provider and that the agent has the required read access. If PR creation is missing, review Configure VCS Access.
